The Hardest Command That Unlocks Abundance
Aug 28, 2025
We all want the same things in life: peace, joy, love, and abundance. But here’s the twist most people don’t want to hear: the path to that kind of life doesn’t come through ease. It comes through choosing the hard thing.
And one of the hardest things you’ll ever be asked to do? Love the people who hurt you.
Jesus said it plainly in Matthew 5:43: “Love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you.”
That doesn’t mean tolerate abuse. It doesn’t mean pretend the pain isn’t real. It means that instead of reacting with bitterness, anger, or revenge, you choose to rise higher. You choose to respond with love.
Why? Because loving only those who love you isn’t special. Anybody can do that. What sets you apart — what transforms your heart — is when you love the people who don’t deserve it.
It sounds impossible, but think about it: God didn’t just love us when we were doing everything right. He loved us through our mess, through our mistakes, through our flaws. And He asks us to do the same.
Here’s what happens when you actually choose love over anger:
- You stop carrying the weight of bitterness.
- Your heart shifts from chaos to peace.
- You reflect God’s character instead of your pain.
- You begin to attract joy, abundance, and favor back into your own life.
It’s not about being weak. It’s about being wise. Because the truth is, anger poisons the vessel that carries it. But love frees it.
Let’s get practical. The next time someone hurts you — cuts you off in traffic, sends the harsh email, talks behind your back — don’t snap, shut down, or stew in resentment. Pause. Pray.
Even if the prayer sounds like: “God, I don’t want to pray for this person. But I’m doing it anyway.” That’s enough. It’s real. It’s honest. And it opens the door for God’s peace to enter.
It’s like buying an old car that needs fixing. It’s messy. It takes work. But in the process, you’re the one being rebuilt. You’re the one becoming stronger, freer, more peaceful.
When you love the people who are hard to love, you’re not just helping them — you’re transforming yourself. And that shift in your heart is what attracts the life you’ve been searching for all along.
Peace. Joy. Abundance.
So today, ask God: Help me love the people who are hardest to love. Help me pray for those who hurt me, even when I don’t feel like it.
It won’t be easy. But it will be worth it. Because when your heart reflects His, you unlock the abundance you’ve been chasing.
