Stop Sitting, Start Serving: Faith in Action

May 16, 2025

There’s a popular phrase in the personal development world: “What you think about, you bring about.” And while that has some truth to it, let’s be clear—it’s not the whole truth. Because you can think, visualize, and manifest all day long, but if you’re not willing to move your feet, you’re going to stay exactly where you are.

We live in a culture that tells us to “hustle harder,” “grind more,” and “make it happen.” But as people of faith, we’re called to a different kind of hustle—a Kingdom hustle. And that means combining our diligence with divine direction.

Proverbs 16:3 tells us, “Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” That’s the blueprint. You bring the work, God brings the provision.

It’s not enough to just pray for a dream and sit back hoping it drops from the sky. If you’re not willing to move, God won’t bless stagnancy. The Bible doesn’t celebrate idleness—it celebrates diligence, faithfulness, and obedience. Ecclesiastes 9:10 says, “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might.” That’s not a suggestion—it’s a divine principle.

Let’s be honest—too many of us are waiting for the cow to back up to our stool. (Yes, you read that right.) But if you want to milk the cow, you’ve got to get up and move toward it. God doesn’t bless laziness. He blesses effort. He meets you in the movement, not in the hoping.

Here’s the part that’s easy to miss: God doesn’t call the equipped—He equips the called. You don’t have to have it all figured out. You don’t need to know how it’s going to come together. But you do need to move. When you step out in faith and start serving—imperfectly, boldly, and consistently—God starts aligning people, resources, and opportunities to meet you on the path.

Want to build a successful life? A meaningful business? A fulfilled calling? Start where you are. Use what you have. Serve someone today. That’s where purpose starts to ignite. God won’t give you the next steps until you take the first one.

So yes—think positively. Speak life. Believe big. But don’t stop there. Your mindset is the soil, but your effort is the seed. And when you water both with faith and prayer? That’s when abundance starts to grow.

Remember: If He gave you the vision, He will also give you the provision. But first, you have to move. Because God doesn’t just drop success in your lap—He partners with you to build it.

So today, don’t just hope. Don’t just dream. Don’t just pray.

Move.
