Overwhelmed? Here’s What to Do When Life Hits a Wall

Jun 25, 2025

Have you ever poured your heart, talent, and hours into a project—only to suddenly feel out of gas, out of focus, or out of hope? Maybe you're building a business, crafting content, leading a team, or simply “doing all the things,” but you suddenly realize: this isn't what you signed up for. Your soul whispers, I don’t wanna do it anymore.

If that hits home, you're not alone. I've been there—balancing courses, podcasts, social platforms, and the personal ambition to grow. Yesterday hit hard. I hit a wall. The strategy, the algorithms, the marketing tactics—I was drowning in it. And then I realized: I'd stationed myself far from the One who gave me vision in the first place.

That's when I turned to Isaiah 30:18–21. In God’s Word I found exactly what I needed.

1. Come Closer, Not Louder

The passage begins by reminding us that God is waiting to show His grace. It’s not about working harder or mastering systems—it’s about drawing near to Him. My mistake? I was hustling for God, but not spending time with Him. The cure for overwhelm is closeness, not another to-do list.

2. Wait on Him

Isaiah reminds us: “Blessed are those who wait for Him”. Waiting isn’t weakness. It's spiritual posture. It means trusting that even in the quiet, purpose and clarity can grow.

3. Listen for the Whisper

“You will hear a voice behind you...” (Isaiah 30:21). Sometimes we expect God to shout—but often, He whispers. We just need to quiet the noise and tune our ears.

4. Dump Hidden Idols

Our idols don’t always come in obvious forms—they sneak in as desperate strategies: chasing followers, perfect content, or metrics. This passage gently called me to examine what I was clinging to—and release it.

5. Plant, With Trust

Isaiah concludes: when we partner with God, He blesses our work: “He will bless you … with rain in the planting time.” In other words: keep planting, even when it’s hard. He brings the rain.

Here’s a clearer path forward:

  1. Pause. Open the Word.
  2. Come closer. Don’t just do—be still before God.
  3. Listen. What’s He whispering? (Rest. Redirect. Wait. Do the next step.)
  4. Let go. Release the idols of perfection or fame.
  5. Plant anyway. Obey, even when unsure.
  6.

If you're overwhelmed, you don't have to stop.

You just need new direction—and the clarity only God can give. Your vision hasn't vanished—it just got sharper. Keep leading, creating, dreaming... but with Him.
